I have been writing music since about the age of 11, and have found that I like to work on things in a project-based manner. I am constantly writing new stuff, and as soon as something cohesive gets completed, I plan to release it digitally in some form.

My most recent releases (via Record Union) include:

Older "albums / musical projects that are cohesive" can be experienced via the player above. Information about each project as well as lyrics are available below. Enjoy!

This is all instrumental guitar based stuff from the past year or so, much of which is just basic riffs and ideas.

One thing that has really interested me lately, in addition to the pretty standard Drop-D tuning (D-A-D-G-B-E), is Drop-C tuning (C-G-C-G-C-E). I noticed that one of my old blues heros David Wilcox was doing it, I guess it's a slide tuning, but I also got wise to the fact that Devin Townsend apparently started out playing that way.

What is cool about it, for me, is the ability to play heavy 7-string type stuff on a six string, since I don't really like the neck width of 7s or 8s. I started out doing Drop-C on a regular 009 set, which was pretty floppy on the low end, but still ok. Next I tried a Ernie Ball Fat Bottom Heavy Top set, which seems to be pretty much designed for the task, and that was significantly more stable.

I also have a baritone guitar that was factory tuned A to A, so about halfway down to a bass guitar, and I've been tuning that in the same interval as a Drop-C but tuned all the way down to E (E-B-E-B-E-G#). So it's really a bass guitar now... :)
